Moviefone – founded in 1989 and acquired by AOL in 1999 – is the premier destination for everything movies and TV. Moviefone is the best place to find what you want to watch and where to watch it – quickly, easily, and at the lowest cost.
With over 64 thousand followers Moviefone is a popular destination for people who love movies. With this in mind, Titus Klein knew they had to deliver what the customer wanted – easily accessible content. The homepage is organized into distinct content zones - what is currently on in theaters, what articles are popular right now, and the latest movie trailers. A two column grid allows Moviefone to surface popular content, such as newsletter signup and advertising, as well as also secondary content like galleries.

The experience for mobile is a refined version of the desktop site. Utilizing a mobile-first approach, we were able to refine the most popular content and deliver this for the mobile and tablet versions of the site. Navigation is hidden until the user needs to use it. All content reflows into a linear pattern at this viewport – bringing content to the forefront with minimal obstruction.
Modern, fun & engaging.
The result is an engaging web experience. A high impact carousel welcomes the user to the most popular content as they land on the site. As the user continues to scroll they are presented with multiple ways of continuing their journey. Clear calls to action invite the user to dig deeper into the site. They can also surface trailers immediately from the homepage – everything you would expect from a premier movie resource such as Moviefone.
